it becomes a part of its audience. In other words, art imitates life rather than the other way around. Photos should be taken to illuminate current social, economic, and very real problems that exist all over the world in an artful way.
Betsy Davis, the eldest daughter of musicians, was brought up believing that art and travel were the only ways to truly feed your soul. On her recent travels through the cities and countryside of Mexico, she captured the current state of political life through portraits of the people of Mexico, protests against Felipe Calderon’s rule as President, and those living under military rule in Oaxaca City during December 2006.
